Political terminology used in America varies from the simple to the complex, from the obvious to the abstruse, and from the straightforward to the exceedingly tricky.

  • anti-war: opposing a specific American military campaign
    "against the Vietnam War" implied a wish for the US to withdraw all its forces from Vietnam
  • "Citizens for (something)": Corporate sponsors for certain political agendas, frequently left-wing.
