Pounds (abbreviated lb or lbs) are the United States customary units tool for measuring weight. Although pounds can vary depending on where they are used, its most common form is the French avoirdupois pound (which was adopted by the United States and later abandoned by France in favor of the Metric System) - which equates 1 pound to 16 ounces or 0.45359237 kilograms.[1][2]
Pounds can also refer to the currency of the United Kingdom.
