Puebla

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Puebla is the fourth largest city in Mexico and is the capital of the state of the same name. Founded in 1532 by Sebastian Ramirez de Fuenleal, archbishop of Santo Domingo, it became seat of the bishopric originally created in 1526 at Tlaxcala.[1] On May 5th, 1862, Mexican forces under General Ignacio Zaragoza defeated the French army in Puebla. This victory is celebrated every 'Cinco de Mayo'. Puebla is sometimes called 'Puebla de los Angeles' (The City of Angels), though the official name is 'Heróica Puebla de Zaragoza' (Heroic Puebla of Zaragoza). This city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is also one of the most Catholic cities in Mexico.
