Ludlum was born May 25, 1927, in New York, grew up in New Jersey, attended the Wesleyan University in Connecticut, acted on television, served in the Marine Corps, and wrote his first novel, The Scarlatti Inheritance, about the Nazis, in 1971.[1] Besides The Scarlatti Inheritance, he is known for his Bourne series.[2] He died on March 12, 2001, in Naples, Florida.[3] Currently his Bourne series is being continued by other authors.[4]
