Roberts Commissions

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Roberts Commissions refer to two separate inquiries relating to the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the other the protection of works of cultural value.

Both commissions were created at the request of President Franklin Roosevelt. The first commission was formed in 1941 shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack and included information related to actions taken by persons of Japanese ancestry. The report was used to justify Japanese Internment during World War II.

The commissions were chaired by Owen Josephus Roberts after which the commissions were named.
