Celtic Crusaders[edit]

Professional rugby league team based in Bridgend, in South Wales, United Kingdom. They joined the LHF Healthplan National League Two in 2006. They play their home games at Brewery Field in Bridgend though they have taken games to other parts of South Wales.

The Crusaders were originally based on the Bridgend Blue Bulls of the Welsh Conference, that managed to gain large support within a few years of being founded. The new club recruited heavily from Bridgend Blue Bulls and Aberavon Fighting Irish.

The prompt for the foundation of a professional rugby league club in Wales was occurred in summer of 2003, the Welsh Rugby Uniondisbanded the Celtic Warriors rugby union club that were a combination of Pontypridd RFC and Bridgend RFC. Leighton Samual, the chairman of the club, formed a professional rugby league club.
