Sadako Sasaki

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Sadako Sasaki was a Japanese girl who acquired leukemia at the age of twelve from exposure to the atomic bomb dropped by the United States on Hiroshima when she was two years old. She attempted to fold a thousand paper cranes before her death in accordance with Japanese tradition (千羽鶴 senbazuru), a story that inspired a large monument in her city and several movies.[1]
