The San Francisco Bay is a large body of water in California attached to the Pacific Ocean and fed by several rivers, including the American River. It is a high-population area of the United States, with San Francisco to the West, San Jose to the South, Oakland and Berkeley to the East, and Napa Valley and Stockton to the North and Northeast. Alcatraz sits in the middle of the Bay and the entrace to the Bay is spanned by the Golden Gate Bridge. The middle of the Bay is spanned by the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge.
The San Francisco Bay is a major port on the West Coast of the United States, being an entry point for many goods from Asia, Australia and China. It is an area rich in wildlife, including many seals, water foul and oysters.
