Scatman Crothers

Scatman Crothers, (1910-1986), born Benjamin Sherman Crothers, was a pioneer of scat music and actor. He has made appearances as Louie the Garbageman on Chico and the Man, a psychopath in The Shining, a senior citizen on Twilight Zone: The Movie, and a janitor in Hello, Dolly!. In 1948, he became the first black man to appear on Los Angeles television.
