Lucius Annaeus Seneca (ca 4 BC - 65 AD), known as Seneca "the Younger", Roman philosopher, statesman and playwright; Nero commanded him to commit suicide because of Seneca's suspected involvement in a plot against Nero's life. His plays include Agamemnon, Medea and Phaedre.
