Speed chess

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Speed chess is a popular form of chess that is typically described in X|Y terminology: "The first number refers to the number of minutes while the second number refers to the seconds of increment per move. Increment is how many seconds are added to the clock for each move that is played."[1] By far the most popular chess game played is the fastest form of bullet chess, which constitutes 25% of all online chess games: 1 minute per side, with no time boost per move.[2]

For example, "3|1" speed chess allots 3 minutes per side and adds 1 extra second per move. A very quick-thinking player can play many moves with little left on the clock.

Wesley So is considered the finest, or at least one of the top three, 3|1 chess players in the world.[3]
