Stoat

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

A stoat
A stoat or ermine is a carnivorous mammal native to the British Isles, Europe and North America. It closely resembles the weasel but is slightly larger. It has brown fur, but can grow white fur in a cold winter, in order to camouflage in snow. White ermine fur is traditionally used in some ceremonial garments, such as the robes worn by members of the British House of Lords.

New Zealand[edit]

Stoats (and weasels) were imported into New Zealand by Pākehā and had a superlative influence on the local Kakapo population.[1]
