Swamp (land)

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

See Washington, D.C. for the capital city known as the "swamp".
A swamp is a forested low, spongy land generally saturated with water and covered with trees and aquatic vegetation. It may be a deepwater swamp, such as the cypress tupelo, which has standing water all or part of the growing season, or a bottomland hardwood forest which is only flooded periodically.[1]
