From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Techno is a form of electronic music which started with Berlin group Kraftwerk in the late 1960s but only became its own style in the early 1970s. Techno reached its peak during the mid 1990s with the growth of Detroit Techno. It remains popular to this day. Techno consists of a loud kick drum, usually in a 4x4 bar format, but can have other forms, with associated hi-hats. It is mostly heard in clubs and has gained popularity among Ecstasy users.

Some well known Techno artists include -

  • The Prodigy
  • Carl Cox
  • Derrick May
  • Jeff Mills
