The Boston Globe is a newspaper which provides local, national, and international news, sports, and more for the Boston metro area.

Established in 1872 by six Boston businessmen, the first copy of The Boston Globe was available March 4, 1872 and cost only four cents. Since 1958 the Globe has been located in the Dorchester section of Boston on what is known as "Newspaper Row", or Washington St.

As of 2012, The Boston Globe is owned by the New York Times Company.
