The Ten Commandments is a Biblical epic film released in 1956 by Paramount Pictures, produced and directed by Cecil B. DeMille, and starring Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner. It is based on the story of Moses as derived from the Biblical books of Genesis and Exodus and other sources. It is an expanded semi-remake of DeMille's 1923 silent version of The Ten Commandments, which was also released by Paramount and entered the public domain in 2019.
