The War on Christmas is a book^[1] by John Gibson of Fox News Channel.

It details the organized efforts by secularist and atheist liberals to suppress, and even eliminate, the public celebration of Christmas (and in so doing, engaging in bigotry and discrimination against religion) through their use of staged protests and lawfare, via filing of frivolous lawsuits by such leftist groups as the ACLU and the atheist Freedom from Religion Foundation, to force removal of public displays of the Nativity and the singing of religious Christmas carols in public school Christmas events (also including even the removal of use of the word Christmas, as in the greeting "Merry Christmas", in public celebrations of the holiday and in themed sales held by retailers, in favor of using more generic politically correct terms such as "Holidays" and "Winter Solstice/Winter"), based on reports allegedly filed by anonymous (in some cases, possibly non-existent) individuals opposed to the holiday, all based on those liberals' bogus claims of "separation of church and state" (which, despite claims to the contrary by liberals, does not exist in the Constitution) and opposition to freedom of religion, to Christianity as a whole and to Jesus Christ in particular.

It notes how the concerted efforts by liberals to outlaw public celebrations of Christmas are actually illegal under the Constitution and as ruled by the United States Supreme Court, as well as how the public has fought back against such efforts by liberals. It also covers how, as part of their strategy in the War on Christmas, liberals in the public square (such as the New York Times and the Huffington Post) publicly and deceitfully deny that there is a War on Christmas.

Not surprisingly, liberals who have taken pretended offense to this book and the truths it points out have, in their faux outrage, gone out of their way to smear both it and its author on its Amazon.com page by giving it negative "reviews" and one-star ratings (most often without having even read the book, but simply as a knee-jerk, and at times childish, ideologically-based reaction to what the book reports) and engage in the same type of denial of the War on Christmas as reported in the book, which serves only to prove the points made by Gibson in his book.
