The 3rd Army was created towards the end of World War I. Its first commander was General Joseph T. Dickman. During World War II, General George Patton took command, taking Sicily, Italy, France, and most of Western Germany. This army was fierce and put the final stake into the heart of the German forces. It is now stationed in The Middle East.
