Tommy Hitchcock

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Tommy Hitchcock (Jr.) (d.1944) is considered the greatest polo player of all-time, who thrived during its golden era prior to World War II. He was also the inspiration for the oafish Tom Buchanan in The Great Gatsby.

Hitchcock was more aggressive than others in the traditionally gentlemanly sport of polo, often using a charging maneuver that is penalized today.[1]
