Uncertainty and the Bible

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Uncertainty, a building block of quantum mechanics, information theory, and other modern scientific advances, is addressed in profound ways at different levels in the Bible.

Uncertainty Acknowledged by Jesus[edit]

Jesus acknowledged at least three matters of uncertainty:

  • random tragedies that inflict harm on innocent victims
  • whether God would intervene to spare Jesus from the Passion.
  • when the end of the world will occur, unknown even to Jesus.

Uncertainty of worldly possessions[edit]

At 1 Timothy 6:17 in modern translations a contrast is drawn between the "uncertainty of riches" and the certitude of God's benevolence to those who place their faith in Him.
