United States presidential election, 1836

Andrew Jackson decided not to run for a third term, but his Vice President, Martin Van Buren was running on the Democratic platform. This time military hero, William Henry Harrison, ran on the new Whig party platform. Jackson's popularity helped Jackson with his campaign. The results showed:
