Veron (Software)

Veron is a freeware application software that is mainly used for playing audio, video file and processing image on personal computers running the 32-bit Windows 7 , Windows 8 & Windows 8.1 operating system.[1] It was developed by S.M.A.Faisal. It has three parts : Veron Player, Veron Calculator & Veron Quick.

1) Veron player :- It can play high definition media file.[2] Features of Veron player are given below :-

  • Supported format file :- It supports wide range of formats both video & audio file including :

Container formats: 3GP, AVI, ASF, FLV, Matroska, MOV (QuickTime), MP4, NUT, Ogg, OGM, RealMedia, Bink.

Video formats: Cinepak, DV, H.263, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, HuffYUV, Indeo, MJPEG, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 Part 2, RealVideo, Sorenson, Theora, WMV, Bink.

Audio formats: AAC, AC3, ALAC, AMR, DTS, FLAC, Intel Music Coder, Monkey's Audio, MP3, Musepack, RealAudio, Shorten, Speex, Vorbis, WMA, Bink.

  • Rip/play audio CD, Stream Capture, media file Converter, Image processing.
  • Music Visualization, Subtitle, YouTube video download, Internet radio.[3]

2) Veron Calculator :- It is a Programmable calculator and can calculate normal and complex calculation.

3) Veron Quick :- It has internet speed monitoring, translate text, email notification & file protection options.[4] In addition, it can show weather forecast.

Program languages & codec[edit]

Veron's majority parts were written in VB.NET language. C# and visual C++ were also used for other parts. In Veron, Veron player uses MPlayer & FFmpeg codec to play audio & video file.[5]

This software received positive reviews for its performance, simplicity, versatility, and functionality with also criticism of user interface issues.[6][7]
