Warehouse

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

A warehouse is a building for storing goods. It is usually a large hollow structure to allow for the storage of large items or for stacking smaller items.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries warehouses were generally multi-storied brick buildings located close to a canal or railway facilities in the middle of cities. Very many such buildings have in recent decades been converted into 'loft apartments' or other residential/leisure related uses. Warehouses now tend to be single-story 'big shed' type buildings covering a large area, and located at strategic points on the motorway / interstate network outside or on the periphery of cities.
