A wolverine (Gulo gulo) is a carnivorous animal that resembles a bear, but is substantially smaller and more squat, and is classified as more similar to weasels than to bears. They can grow up to 34 inches and weigh up to 45 lbs.[1]
The University of Michigan uses the wolverine as its mascot. Marvel Comics hero Wolverine takes his name from this animal.
