From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

The Year of Mercy is the designated Jubilee year in the Roman Catholic Church that began on December 8, 2015. It includes an offer of special forgiveness to those involved in abortion, if they seek repentance and confess to a priest.

The Year of Mercy ended on November 20, 2016, but the special authorization for any parish priest to forgive an abortion as part of confession was extended permanently.
