Gagnepainia is a genus of flowering plants in the ginger family, Zingiberaceae. It has three known species, all native to Indochina.
The genus was named in 1904 by Karl Moritz Schumann[1][2] for French botanist François Gagnepain, who described many new species from the former colony of French Indochina.[3]
All three species were initially described in 1895 as members of Hemiorchis, then transferred to the newly created Gagnepainia in 1904.[4]
