The metacestode of the cestode Echinococcus spp.
A metacestode is the larval stage of a tapeworm , found in an intermediate host.[ 1] [ 2] It can take various forms, for example, the hydatid cyst, strobilocercus, cysticercus or cysticercoid .[ 3]
