Arc XP, formerly known as Arc Publishing, is a software as a service company that provides a digital experience platform anchored by a content management system and a fully hosted and managed front end experience platform.

Using cloud-native tools, Arc XP helps organizations create and distribute content, monetize websites and drive e-commerce, and deliver multichannel experiences.[1]

History

Arc XP was started by The Washington Post as the newspaper struggled with the transition to digital – especially as managing content development across a global newsroom and multichannel delivery became increasingly complex. In 2011, The Washington Post decided to build their own content management system on the back of their engineering organization.

The Washington Post noticed a platform would be beneficial for other media organizations too and Arc Publishing started.[2]

In April 2021, Arc Publishing changed its name to Arc XP as it aims to market beyond not only media and entertainment, but also enterprise businesses.[3]

As of 2022, Arc XP has grown into a software technology provider serving customers in more than 25 countries, delivering billions of monthly page views across more than 2,000 sites.[4]
