Arctic7 is a video game developer based in Austin, Texas . It was founded by a trio of former EA developers Igor Efremov, Mark Rizzo, Alan Van Slyke.
On February 16, 2022, it was announced that Igor Efremov, Mark Rizzo, and Alan Van Slyke; a trio of former EA developers had left to form their own studio Arctic7. The headquarters to be located in Austin Texas.[1] A month later, Arctic had secured a $2 million seed round of investment led by VC firm Grishin Robotics to fund the AAA vision.[2] The company then opened a new development studio in Montenegro in June 2022. Choosing former Sperasoft production director, Kedhrin Gonzalez to be the new studio head.[3]
In March 2023, The company appointed John Burns as chief commercial officer and Felix Jorge as chief communication officer.[4] Later that month it had acquired two studios; Star Fort Games and Narwhal Studios with the aim to expand business operations in gaming and into media production.[5][6] Few months later in August, the company announced another studio opening this time in Barcelona, Spain.[7][8]
