Assessio is a Swedish multinational professional services firm that develops psychometric tests. It is a consulting organization with a focus on human capital management. Assessio was established by the Swedish Psychological Society in 1954. In 1991, Assessio was acquired by Hunter Mabon, a professor at Stockholm University, and has since evolved into an international test publishing house and HR consultancy firm.
As of 2008, the company has offices in Sweden, Finland , Norway , Denmark , and the Netherlands.[3] In Norway, Assessio is the largest provider of recruitment tests in the country.[4]
Assessio was established by the Swedish Psychological Society in 1954.[5] In 1991, the psychology research institute then known as the Swedish Test Publishing Company was purchased and acquired by Hunter Mabon, a Scottish professor of psychology. Mabon helped diversify the organization into the business sector specializing in employment recruitment and selection. With extensive investment in the digitalization of scientific selection methods, the company soon tested around 70,000 selection candidates monthly. In 2019, Assessio was sold to CVC Capital Partners, a private equity firm and investment company.[6]
Assessio has produced a variety of tests such as a Predicting Job Performance (PJP) test that measures personality traits as well as general mental ability (GMA). Assessio is also a distributor of other tests, including the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), 16PF Questionnaire, Hogans Assessments, and Raven's Progressive Matrices.[7]
The Assessio Group has acquired three companies: The Danish-based People Test Systems (PTS) along with Dutch-based Eelloo in 2021 and HFM Talent Index in 2019.
Assessio has published several books, including:
