In February 2018, Premise named Maury Blackman as its president & CEO.[3][4][5] Blackman, the 2016 Ernst & Young[6] previously served as CEO of the government technology company Accela.[7] In 2015 Blackman was recognized by Government Technology magazine as one of its "Top 25 Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers".[8]
Premise was co-founded in 2012 by David Soloff and Joe Reisinger.[9] Soloff now serves as the Company's Chairman of the Board.[10] Other Premise Board Members include Larry Summers, the former United States Treasury Secretary, Chamath Palihapitiya, Founder and Managing Partner of Social Capital, a venture capital fund, Timothy Watkins of Valor Equity Partners, and Karim Farris of Google Ventures.[11]
The company is advised by Raj Shah, President of the Rockefeller Foundation and former Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development, and Hal Varian, Google's Chief Economist.[12]
