Scarecrow VFX is an American visual effects facility based in Los Angeles. It was founded by Harvard Business School graduate Rohin Aggarwal[1] to support independent filmmakers by providing services from pre-production to post-production.
Scarecrow VFX was founded in 2013. It is one of the first companies to link freelance visual effects artists located in different countries around the world. Scarecrow uses technology to allow artists located in different parts of the world to apply for and work on projects.[2] This model is part of a movement recognized at the 2013 Visual Effects Society summit, which held a panel titled "Virtual Studios: The New Reality" moderated by company CEO Rohin Aggarwal.[3]
The facility lists access to over 600 artists across 30 countries.[4] Scarecrow VFX recently completed work on commercial director David Rosenbaum's short "The Trail's End".[5] Scarecrow also sponsored the 2014 Producers Guild of America Produced By conference.[6]
