Indonesian Orthodox Church (Indonesian: Gereja Ortodoks Indonesia, abbreviated GOI) is the legal name of a deanery which was under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church. Its current situation is unknown.
Ever since the Indonesian Orthodox Church was incorporated by the ROCOR into the Archdiocese of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand under Archbishop Hilarion Kapral[1][2] through the help of Archbishop Mark (Golovkov) in 2003, it has been headed by the Mitred Archimandrite Father Daniel.[1]
In 2019, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the ROCOR, decided to canonically release Fr. Daniel Byantoro from his pastoral responsibilities and did not give him other responsibilities.[3]
It has approximately 2,500 members[1] and includes 13 parishes that spread in Java, Bali, Sumatra, Celebes, Timor and Papua.
