From HandWiki - Reading time: 1 min

Adventure Definition Language (ADL) is a system for writing text adventures. It was created by Ross Cunniff and Tim Brengle in 1987. It is available with source code in C. ADL is semi-object-oriented with Lisp-like syntax and is a superset of DDL. Not to be confused with Adventure Development Language of Sierra Entertainment.

ADL currently runs on Amiga, Atari ST, PC (DOS), VAX and Unix.
