The game is a traditional text-based adventure where players assume the role of Dorothy, and interact with the characters, world, and objects from the books through text commands.[2]
The Wizard of Oz was positively received by press, including II Computing,[3] Ahoy!,[4] and Commodore Power Play.[2][5]
