A category for people, organizations and ideas that are related to the Austrian school of economics. While the Austrian school is a very diverse tradition, some common ground can be found: the belief that the markets can solve most of the problems (or at least, can solve them better than the government) and the rejection of the scientific method for a more subjective approach. Austrians today can be roughly divided by those from the George Mason University, those who tend to follow the Friedrich Hayek tradition, those from the Ludwig von Mises Institute, and those who follow Murray Rothbard's ideas.
