Bible woo
Woo derived from the Bible. Bible woo uses things mentioned in the Bible for purposes other than religion and history, often outside of their original context. Examples include alternative medicine, fad diets, pseudoarcheology, deriving incantations and spells from Bible verses, using the Bible as a guide to locating oil reserves, and searching for hidden ciphers and codes in the Bible (as in the popular book The Bible Code). Based on the assumption that the Bible is some kind of magical treasure chest of superior knowledge. Popular among Christians and New Agers alike.
