Political strategery"Strategery" is a term coined in the 2000 U.S. presidential election campaign. Originally used to satirize, the term grew into widespread use during the Bush Administration. Originally used in a Saturday Night Live sketch during the first presidential debate for election year 2000, written by James Downey, that October 7, 2000, and satirized George W. Bush's habit of mispronouncing words.[1] It was later adopted by the Bush administration itself as a term for PR and political strategizing, with Bush's strategists being known within the White House as "The Department of Strategery", or the "Strategery Group",[2] further proving Poe's Law. |
