Totalitarianism

noframe
Articles about totalitarian regimes, governments, leaders and philosophy. It may be seen as an arbitrary "Authoritarianism++". However, there are notable features which distinguish the two:

  • Control, not only over political life but also over the personal lives of individual people.
  • Total censorship. No information can be spread without the regime's approval.
  • A state ideology, to which the regime and its people must be devoted.
  • The dictator's personality cult, which is almost religious in nature and can legitimately drive people insane.
The go-to examples of totalitarian regimes are Nazi Germany and the Stalin-era Soviet Union.
