Bob White is an at-large representative on the Lee's Summit R-7 Schools Board of Education in Missouri. White sought another term in the general election on April 5, 2016. He won re-election to his seat after the election was canceled to a lack of opposition.[1]

Two of the seven seats on the Lee's Summit R-7 Schools school board were up for general election on April 5, 2016. Incumbents Phyllis Valagna and Bob White filed for re-election. As they were the only candidates to file, the election was canceled. [1]

Lee's Summit R-7 Schools is located in northwest Missouri in Jackson County. The county seats of Jackson County are Independence and Kansas City. Jackson County was home to 683,191 residents in 2014, according to the United States Census Bureau.[3] The district was the 10th-largest school district in the state in the 2013–2014 school year and served 17,844 students.[4]

Jackson County outperformed the state of Missouri in terms of higher education achievement in 2013. The United States Census Bureau found that 27.6 percent of Jackson County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree, compared to 26.2 percent for Missouri as a whole. The median household income in Jackson County was $47,015, compared to $47,380 for the state of Missouri. The poverty rate in Jackson County was 17.4 percent, compared to 15.5 percent for the entire state.[3]
