A New School District Establishment proposition was approved on the April 9, 2013 election ballot in Whiteside and Lee Counties, which are in Illinois.

This measure would authorized the establishment of a new school district in the area described below in the text of the question. This measure also authorizes the district to levy taxes at 1.95% for educational purposes, 0.30% for operations and maintenance purposes, 0.20% for transportation purposes, and 0.05% for working cash purposes.[1]

Text of the question:

PROPOSITION TO ESTABLISH A NEW COMBINED ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THE TERRITORY COMPRISING THE ENTIRE TERRITORIES OF EAST COLOMA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT #12, COUNTY OF WHITESIDE, STATE OF ILLINOIS AND NELSON ELEMENTARY DISTRICT # 8, COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF ILLINOIS.

Shall a new combined elementary school district be created in the territory comprising the entire territories of East Coloma Elementary School District #12, County of Whiteside, State of Illinois and Nelson Elementary School District #8, County of Lee, State of Illinois, the Board of Education of said district shall be elected at large and with the authority to levy taxes at the rate of 1.95% for educational purposes, .30% for operations and maintenance purposes, .20% for transportation purposes, and .05% for working cash purposes, each upon the full, fair cash value of all taxable property of the district as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue?
