    A Rio Grande Village Police Income Tax Addition measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the village of Rio Grande which is in Gallia County.

    This measure sought to add to the current income tax by a rate of .5 percent for a period of five years in order to further pay for police protection services and equipment and supply needs in the village.[2]

    The question on the ballot:

    Shall the Ordinance providing for a half (0.5%) percent levy on income for the purpose of POLICE PROTECTION WAGES / BENEFITS, EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES, AND APPARATUS, for calendar years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 be passed?[3]
