    Windows XP ("experience") comprises several versions of an operating system for home and business computers and media centers, developed by Microsoft and first released in 2001. Although superseded by Windows Vista in 2006, it remains the world's most widely-used operating system, with two-thirds of the market in June 2009.[1]
