    Moriscos

From Conservapedia - Reading time: 1 min

Moriscos were Spanish Moslems who were allowed to remain in Spain after the Spanish Inquisition, under the pretense that they had converted to Christianity. In fact they had not converted, and their descendants revolted against the Spanish King Philip II. He defeated them in 1567-70 and moved them to the interior of Spain, and Philip III expelled them in 1609.
