A repetitive song is a type of children's song that consists of repeated words and phrases. Many repetitive songs are believed to have originated in the United States among African American slaves as they were doing manual work in the 19th century. Although many adults and teenagers view them as "annoying", repetitive songs are not entirely a bad thing as repetition can aid memory and be very valuable in studying religion, foreign languages, mathematics, science, history, grammar, and/or literature.
