Surgical treatments include Curettage, in which molluscum contagiosum lesions are surgically removed. Additionally, laser therapy can be effective in the treatment of molluscum contagiosum lesions.

Physical removal of the molluscum contagiosum lesion with a curette^[1]
Immediate effect of treatment
High number of lesions and concomitant atopic dermatitis are considered as risk factors associated with treatment failure
Can lead to small, depressed scars as a side effect

Laser[edit | edit source]

Pulsed dye laser therapy for molluscum contagiosum may be effective as the treatment for multiple lesions in patient ^[2]^[3]
