Dust Mohammad (Persian: دوست محمد, also Romanized as Dūst Moḩammad; also known as Dūst Moḩammad Khān)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, the Central District of Hirmand County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran, and also serves as capital of the county and of Dust Mohammad Rural District.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 6,902 in 1,328 households, when it was in the former Hirmand District of Zabol County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 6,774 people in 1,378 households.[6] By the time of the census, Hirmand District had been separated from Zabol County to form Hirmand County. It was then divided into the Central and Qorqori Districts.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 6,621 people in 1,412 households.[2]
