Ivica Dronjić is a Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) career diplomat who served as the 8th BiH Permanent Representative to the United Nations.[1]

Career[edit]

Dronjić's diplomatic career began in 1986 and rose through the ranks to the position of Minister Counsellor and later the Deputy Permanent Representative of BiH to the UN missions in Vienna, Geneva and New York before being promoted to the head of the UN Department and other international organisations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[2] He was appointed BiH Permanent Representative to the United Nations in 2018 but had a short career as he was recalled by his country's presidential cabinet members including Željko Komšić and Milorad Dodik.[3] After his removal from UN, Dronjić complained that he had the shortest tenure as a permanent representative to the UN in a letter to the UN Secretary General.[4][5]
