The cargo ship carrying 20,000 sacks of cement sank off Lobo, Batangas, Philippines, after encountering rough seas and strong winds. Of her crew, one was killed and nineteen survived.[1]

Hurricane Joaquin: The cargo ship foundered in the Caribbean Sea off Haiti. Her twelve crew took to the lifeboat. USCGC Northland ( United States Coast Guard) was reported to be searching for them,[176] but they were rescued by Cronus Leader (Panama) and Falcon Arrow (Bahamas) under the AMVER scheme.[177]
