    山達基掩護機構

    山達基教會有著一系列掩護機構但從名稱及運作上不透露其與山達基教會的聯繫。教會利用這些幌子機構來促進其政治利益、使自己顯得合理合法並透過這些機構招募成員。英國《泰晤士報》發表文章稱，“[教會通過出版、諮詢、醫療保健甚至補習教育等行業的廣泛前沿團體來吸引]粗心的人”。許多團體都是建立在偽科學的基礎上，名稱不誠實，並且淡化了他們與山達基教的聯繫。

    掩護機構可以分爲四類：

    1. 這些機構是山達基組織網絡的一部分，並在山達基教會內直接管理，但其名稱掩蓋了這種聯繫，
    2. 那些在「世俗」子公司下運作但仍在山達基教會內管理或監督的公司，
    3. 由山達基志工組成的團體或項目，同時仍受到山達基教會機構的監督和指導，以及
